Who We Are

At Xochitl Montessori and Spanish Immersion School LLC, we are passionate about providing a nurturing environment where children can thrive academically and linguistically. Our Montessori approach fosters independence, creativity, and a love for learning in each child. Located in the vibrant community of Austin, Texas, we embrace diversity and cultural enrichment as integral parts of our educational philosophy.

Mission Statement

The mission of Xochitl Montessori and Spanish Immersion School LLC is to provide a stimulating environment that will help children develop within themselves the foundation, attitudes, skills, and ideas that are essential to learning.

Children will be fully immersed in the Spanish language as soon as they begin their day. Maria Montessori recognized in her daily observation of children that children are self-motivated. Children move themselves toward learning. The teacher prepares a stimulating environment, and it is the child who learns and who is motivated through interesting work that is provided in the environment. Montessori materials teach children to observe, to think, and to judge. Our teachers will guide the children with a positive attitude so that children will focus on learning and building their concentration for lifelong study skills.

Vision Statement

Xochitl Montessori and Spanish Immersion School LLC envision a vibrant educational setting where children thrive, fostering essential skills and attitudes through immersive Spanish language learning from the moment they step through our doors.

Objective

Dr. Montessori found that a child’s true nature is that of peace and harmony, which emerges through normalization. In order to fully develop the child both physically and intellectually, the child must have freedom. The Montessori methods and principles applied in the classroom help the child achieve this freedom when they are allowed to work free from adult intervention and to follow their natural development. Dr. Montessori developed what she called the “Prepared Environment,” which possesses a certain order and allows children to learn at their own pace and choose the materials they want to work with. Through normalization, they become self-disciplined individuals. The years between three and six are the years in which children are most attracted to the rules of human behavior. It is during this period that children learn manners and practice them in a very natural way. In the Montessori Method, guides are able to observe each child individually.
